What Others Are Saying

In September our Worship Committee at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Manitowoc decided to include contemporary worship in our offerings. Soon after I contacted Mike to help us kick off this offering . In the months that followed Mike helped us plan, gave us ideas, and offered his talent to us. This past weekend (January 11th and 12th) Mike came to Manitowoc.  We were simply amazed at what happened at our church. We watched as Mike worked with our choir and our praise team to pull them together to offer something we were never able to offer before. Teaching us how to help lead our congregation in worship. The comments we heard from our members were all positive. We heard comments like "The whole atmosphere at church was different today, uplifting" and " My kids were so happy they got to clap and stomp their feet." Mike's faith in Jesus shines through in everything he does. We feel very blessed by our Lord to have worked with Mike and cannot wait till we have him back again.

Thanks so very much to you and your musical group, spending an evening in Lansing and sharing God's Word with us. Your music, your life experiences, and especially your faith created an uplifting spiritual atmosphere benefiting all in attendance. May God continue to bless all of you in your efforts.

Here is the final report on the Share the Hope concert you did back on 8/18 in Cadillac, MI. Overall the feedback was very positive. Everyone loved the audience participation. The format and music were uplifting to us all. We had many WELS members from other congregations in attendance and they liked the concert very much too. I think this event was well promoted by our congregation and Tammy. Please send our thanks to her as well.  thank you for a great afternoon of fun and music. What a wonderful way to share Gods message.

“Share the Hope” says it all for me! Hope can have many forms. It can be food, clothing, money, or it could simply be a hug. Most importantly it is the message of Jesus. This concert was all that and more for those in the community we helped, the participants that volunteered, and myself. Working with your group was so fun and enlightening! Organizing a concert for the first time was a daunting task simplified by your cheerful assistance the whole way through. Encouraging us the entire way with messages of Jesus and keeping our focus in the proper light. Planning “Share the Hope” brought new life and invigorating fellowship between all those who volunteered creating a fun exciting way for us to carry out God’s command ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ (Matt 25:40). God’s blessings on the “Share the Hope” ministry. Till we meet again! -

It was a pleasure working with you on the Share the Hope Concert.  Your team was professional, organized, energetic and did an excellent job keeping God's message as your focal point throughout the entire planning process.  To be a part of the planning committee and then see it all come together was an amazing experience for me and I will always cherish the memories made at the concert.  Thank you again for all you did for our congregation and for all the people you touched in our community.  -

“Share the Hope” was a great way for us to show Christian love and share the saving message of Jesus, the Savior of the nations.  Working with Mike and Tammy was a great blessing as our little mission congregation was able to reach out and display our concern for the physical and spiritual needs of our community.  We thank God for the opportunity to proclaim the good news to people who may have never entered our church doors to hear it.  My prayer is that God will use this ministry to touch the hearts and lives of many throughout our country.

“Mike made it real easy for us and it was an extremely enjoyable experience.”
Member at Crown of Life

Mike (and a campus student - Tyler Melso) led our worship with songs that emphasized Jesus and his work for us, songs that we could sing readily because they were familiar or could join with eventually because Mike led us to learn them.  His original texts are rich and his music is compelling.  Many of our church members expressed their appreciation for his work to help them glorify God!

Pastor Glenn Rosenbaum,
St. Joseph, MI

We were privileged to have Mike Westendorf and his band here for a worship concert.  Mike’s musical ministry enhanced his passionate Christ centered message of hope for a dying world. Having Mike share his music ministry here provided a touch point for reinvigorated outreach by our congregation.  Mike’s personal testimony forces each of us to face the questions, “What breaks my heart when I think about the people of my community and what I can do about it."

Dave Neimi,
Music Director First Lutheran,
La Crosse, WI.

“Anyone who truly understands the gospel – the victory we now hold as redeemed children of God – knows how it lightens our hearts. It leads to laughter and dancing, confidence and renewed energy (Jer. 31:13). Mike and his music embody that aspect of gospel joy. The church of the 21st century is more than ready for music that expresses such unrestrained joy.”

Pastor James M. Hein

"I met artist and meteorologist Mike Westendorf about one year ago in 2012. He is a true brother in Christ and a very talented musician. I listen to a lot of Christian Contemporary music with a critical ear to the musicality and the text. I especially like songs that have a strong text in which Christ emerges as the Hero for fallen mankind. Mike’s big heart for his Savior is obvious in his music. Mike is an original artist who doesn't limit himself to any specific style. I think his songs are a wonderful combination  heart, soul, faith, and the Word of God. I enjoy knowing him as a person and an artist."

Pastor Scott Martz,
Lamb of God Lutheran

"Mike Westendorf led worship at our church, CrossWalk, in sunny Phoenix, AZ. Mike led our congregation in the music and worship on a Sunday morning along with six of our volunteer musicians. It was a great chance for me to see someone else who "does what I do" lead the people of God toward the cross. I learned a lot from him and noticed a few of the gifts God has given him. Firstly, Mike is an exceptional speaker. He can hold attention and paint pictures with his words, and does it in a very Lutheran way. Mike also understands how to lead people in song, to encourage them to sing, and to focus their hearts on Jesus and the message of the song. He is a very personable guy and loves to serve the church in whatever way he can. Mike was very willing to step into CrossWalk's family for a day and adapt his style to our people and for what was best for our congregation. I heard many comments from our people that they enjoyed having Mike lead them in worship and would love to have him back again."

Jonathon Favorite,
music director at Crosswalk,
Phoenix, AZ

"Your leading of the worship music was awesome! Your style of engaging those in attendance, before the music even starts, with the background to the song and/or the reason it was written makes people want to sing the words and offer their praise to our Lord. Your music and your approach may be contemporary, but I did not see too many people not participating. Thanks again!!"

Neil Hankowitz,
Kindom Workers

“We had the pleasure of having Mike join our Discovery/High Interest Day at school, where students, parents and teachers were entertained in a concert-type setting in our gym.  Mike took time in advance of the performance to learn more about his audience and our expectations.   The result was an uplifting and interactive musical experience that incorporated the Christian message and left all those in attendance talking about it for days afterward!  It was a true pleasure having Mike perform and we would highly recommend him for similar events.”

Julie Rader,
St John’s Lutheran School,
Discovery Day  Co-Chair

"Thanks to you for making the trip to Appleton bringing your gift of music to us!  It was incredible to read the Facebook posts and hear chatter from our members following Sunday's worship - our people really appreciated your style and admired your musical talent and the passion that you show in your work!"

Pastor Dustin Sievert,
St. Peter's Lutheran,
Appleton, WI

“The ‘Share the Hope’ concert in Lake City was a huge success.  It brought the community together for a wonderful evening of music in a family friendly environment.  The love of Christ came through the music that evening and inspired all those who were there.  Mike’s message of salvation is spot on, and his love of Christ is evident in his music ministry.  He has a true passion for reaching the lost through his music.  I would encourage all churches to consider bringing Mike Westendorf to their next Evangelism/Outreach event.”

Pastor Chris Hoppe,
St. John's,
Frontenac, MN

For the past two years our congregation has been blessed to have Mike and his band in concert for our Spring Blast weekend.  The two days are meant to reach out to our members and the community with several activities, and especially with the reason why we exist.  Starting out with the concert was an amazing way to set the tone for the weekend.  Those in attendance had so many wonderful comments and felt so uplifted. They cannot wait to hear him again!!  Thank you, Mike and all, for your upbeat and unique ministry!!  May God continue to bless your efforts of reaching out to others hearts and souls through music!!
